Renewed Hope United Methodist Church reflects the marriage of two legacy congregations – Irving Park/Big Shoulders and Berry United Methodist Churches. Each church served their Chicago communities for more than 100 years.
Both churches have been pioneering members of the Reconciling Ministries Network, which works for the full participation of all LGBTQ+ people throughout the life and leadership of the Church. As part of our commitment to inclusion, Renewed Hope conducts a monthly dementia-friendly worship with residents at Wesley Place.
Renewed Hope is a growing family, and everyone is welcome to join us!
The two congregations have been spiritually aligned, putting body and soul into partnerships for greater justice, spreading food, direct administration, assistance to the poor, and sharing our smiles and tender love.
Renewed Hope hosts a wide range of social, spiritual, progressive cause-related activities to engage the community including small group book discussions, Bible study, game nights, potlucks, pet blessings and marching in the Pride Parade.
The church volunteers for community groups like the local food pantry and Lawrence Hall. The United Women in Faith is dedicated to supporting women & children. We invite you to feel the Renewed Hope of our community.
